I attended a friend’s wedding years ago and remember it so fondly. One of the things I loved and still remember about the wedding were the bride’s thoughtful gestures for guests, including a photo booth (before they were even popular) and a special treat for children — an activity book.

If children are invited to your wedding reception, consider how you can keep them entertained. For the right age group, activity books like this adorable one from Lovely Indeed are so thoughtful. A free, printable version of this is available on here.

We here at Rex & Regina Event are over the moon! Today, we learned that we are featured in Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine as one of their preferred vendors — a great honor. Not only are we listed, but we were nominated as “One to Watch” (which my husband says is akin to “Best New Artist” — I’ll take it!).

We want to take a moment to thank those who have supported us over these last four and half years — from brides and grooms, to friends, to vendors, to family… to my FABULOUS team. You have made this honor possible and we are so grateful.

Dominique & Tony: A Garden Wedding at Strong Mansion

When I first met Dominique I knew right away her and Tony’s wedding would be out of this world. A beautiful girl from a large Greek family marrying a fabulous local chef — this was going to be one culinary feast of a party! And it was. The couple got married at Strong Mansion up at Sugarloaf, Maryland. Cocktail hour featured charcuterie from a local purveyor and a signature cocktail from one of DC’s best mixologists — all around a beautiful garden setting. An impressive dessert table awaited guests later in the evening, designed by one of the area’s top bakers. The deejay played a skillful mix of Greek music, old classics, and contemporary hits and everyone had a great time late into the night. It was an incredible day!

Recently, I had the privilege of working with Sara and Branon, a fun young professional couple in DC, on their wedding. The two were a joy to work with and we had a lot of fun pulling the various elements of the event together. From the rehearsal dinner and welcome reception, to the ceremony, reception, and after-party — each part of the weekend was designed to extend gracious hospitality to their family and friends. His & Hers Wedding Favors

At a recent wedding, the bride offered different favors for the men, women, and children in attendance. I thought it was a nice way to personalize the experience for guests. You could have a lot of fun selecting unique gifts for everyone. Guys could get baseballs if the groom was a sports-lover; women could get chocolate or pashminas; and kids could get small, fun games. Often, general favors don’t fit for everyone so this is a thoughtful to way to make guests feel special.

The summer wedding below featured custom spice rub for the fellas, hand fans for the ladies, and bubbles for the young’uns. Clever!
