A Beautiful Decatur House Wedding

I had such an amazing time working with a special couple on their Fall wedding at Decatur House in Washington, DC. Danielle and Jason did an incredible job in thinking thoughtfully through all of the details of their wedding. I especially loved their “getaway” after the ceremony on a tandem bike! They even gave bike bells to each guest to ring while they peddled away. So cool!

Congratulations, Danielle and Jason! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day!

Baby’s Breath – A New Take

No longer just a sprig pinned into an updo, baby’s breath holds its own as a statement centerpiece in these images. Mixed with mercury glass and silver tones, it goes from  simple and sweet to bold and elegant. It doesn’t hurt that baby’s breath represents everlasting love.

Place Cards and Escort Cards

Small, thoughtful details can add to your guests’ experience. One of the easiest ways to personalize the guest experience and make them feel welcomed is with place cards or escort cards. Here are some fantastic options from BHLDN, Etsy, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Wedding Paper Divas.

It’s in the Details

1920’s-Inspired Signature Drinks

Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby provides a luscious, opulent perspective of the 1920’s. Influencing fashion, events, and decor, the movie gives a fresh take on 1920’s flair. As you consider your signature drink for cocktail hour, keep in mind these revamped classics.

Kids’ Wedding Activity Book

When inviting children to a wedding, it is always nice to have something fun for them to do. I love this coloring book template from Martha Stewart. It is easy to print and put together and is nice for children of various ages. Set a copy along with some crayons at each child’s place setting and let them enjoy!
